You must display your badge if you want to park in a disabled space.
People shouldn’t park on the footpath as this blocks access for people with wheelchairs. The parking permit is valid for 2 years and then you have to renew it. You must also make sure that the space is wide enough so you can put the wheelchair beside the car for the transfer.
The EU parking permit is issued on behalf of the Department of Transport by the Disabled Drivers Association. There is an administration charge of €35 per parking card.
